BARRINGTON VILLAGE HALL,TA19 0JE

 

Barrington is situated on the southern edge of the Somerset Moors and Levels with easy access from Ilminster via the B3168 and less than 15 miles from both Yeovil and Taunton.

 

 

 

In 2002 it was decided to build a new village hall to accommodate the needs of the people of Barrington and its surrounding villages. Following four years of fund raising, building started in 2006 and the hall was officially opened on 2nd December that year.

 

The hall is designed to accommodate a wide variety of activities and community based services.

Barrington Village Hall is situated in a quiet rural location with extensive outside patio area having open aspect views over parkland and countryside

 

Main car parking area has 15 spaces including disabled parking

Additional parking available on the grassed area at the front of the hall. A children's well equipped playground is situated next to the hall.

 

Main Hall

Floor Area 135m2 (14.8 by 9.1 metres) with permanent staging are of 18m2 (9.0 x 2.0metres) with additional staging available of 14m2 (7.0 by 2.0 metres)

 

Hall Services:

• Full audio system and lighting bar for hirer's stage lighting
• Hearing loop fitted to operate throughout the main hall
• Sprung floor and fitted blinds to aid film/video projection and theatrical productions
• Theatre style seating for 200
• Dining seating for 150
• Free standing partition available for division of the hall and display purposes
   

 

Range of suitable activities and events include:

• Business meetings, workshops, exhibitions and auctions

• Short mat bowls
• Table tennis
• Gymnastics, pilates, aerobics, dance instruction
  

Committee Room 

Area 19 m2 (4.85 by 3.90 metres) with boardroom style seating for 20. Separate access to kitchen.

Entrance Hall

Spacious entrance facility using the full height of the hall with toilets for ladies and gentlemen. Separate disabled toilet and lift to first floor.

Additional toilet facilities including disabled toilets are available on the first floor.

 

FIRST FLOOR

Rooms 1 and 2

Each having area of 22.5 m2 (5.60 x 4.00 metres). Available separately or together using pull back doors.

 

Licences

The hall has a current entertainments licence permitting music and entertainment to take place up to midnight.

The hall does NOT have a licence for the sale of alcohol and it is the responsibility of the hirer to obtain a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) from South Somerset District Council.

 

HIRE RATES

Competitive hire rates are available upon request which include heating and lighting costs and the use of the kitchen excluding the range which is subject to an additional charge. Power to the kitchen equipment, excluding the range, is controlled by a coin meter which takes £1 coins. The use of tables and chairs is also included.
A large marquee is available for hire. The hire rate includes delivery and set up charges.
