CHEDZOY VILLAGE HALL, near Bridgwater
Chedzoy is situated some three miles east of Bridgwater, a mile east of the A39 main road. The re-furbished Village Hall is right in the centre of Chedzoy in Front Street, 400yards west of the parish church. The costly rebuilding and extensions have made it ideal for all kinds of private and public events.
The Hall was built in 1914 being the gift of the then rector - the Rev. George Mullins. Its attractive styling fits well into the village scene and great care was taken in the rebuilding to retain the design which has stood the test of time. Today it is run on behalf of village residents by an elected Management Team. The team's members are all local and have between them years of experience organising all types of events both social and commercial.
The well planned refurbishment was the result of wide consultation with past and present users so that the layout and equipment is of a very high standard and includes:-
Kitchen and catering facilities with
Electric Range Cooker, Dishwasher, Urns, cooler and hot trolley, etc
The Hall fronts a half acre plot with an excellent grassed field behind having direct access from the main street. This is frequently used by the village for sports days, wedding reception marquees, flower shows, fireworks etc, etc. Dry weather parking is available on the field for up to 25 vehicles.
