The Village Hall, Edington (Charity No. 278037) plays a large part in the social lives of a great many people in and around the Polden Hills. It is easy to find (see map below) and it shares a site at Quarry Ground, off The Broadway, with the Surgery.

 

 

The Hall's History

 

The Hall was opened in 1980 and it has since been extended to accommodate a wide range of activities. The installation of sophisticated stage lighting and audio facilities has attracted professional arts events. A carpeted meeting room with its own toilet facility, kitchen area and separate entrance to that of the main hall adds to its multi-use capability.   • Car park for 44 vehicles (with additional overflow of 12 on site and 20 more nearby
  • Hall capacity up to 150 seating depending on layout.
  • Committee Room (upholstered seating for 20)
  • Bar area with its own licence/entrance foyer with telephone and toilets and a separate area accessible from both the main hall and committee room can also be used for a bar. It has a kitchen, servery, toilet and separate disabled toilet.
  • Large storeroom
  • Licensed to show films
  • Stage (27m² performing area) with analogue/digitally programmed stage lighting, PA and audio, costume hire and separate side access to changing room and outside door for moving scenery.
  • Pleasant 1/3 acre grassed area for marquees and for exhibitions and small fêtes.
