Open community support meetings to discuss proposed new Hinkley Power Station associated development
Venue: St Peter's CE Primary School, Doniford Road, WILLITON, TA4 4SF
Sedgemoor District Council and West Somerset Council are giving support to communities to understand EDF's second stage proposals for a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point. Community Support drop in meetings to help communities interpret and discuss EDF's now revised 'Second Stage' proposals will take place as follows, whereby you will be offered the opportunity to discuss with others in the community how the EDF proposals may affect you parish areas. Technical specialists working with the Councils will be available to give advice and listen to your views.
The consultation period for EDF Energy's second stage proposals closes on 4th October 2010. Somerset Chamber Choir
Venue: Wells Cathedral
Somerset Chamber Choir presents 'The dreamers of dreams' - an evening of inspirational English choral music, including Elgar's The Music Makers (which ingeniously incorporates quotations from his earlier works, including 'Nimrod' from the Enigma Variations), Vaughan Williams Toward the Unknown Region and Flos Campi plus works by Judith Bingham, SS Wesley and Parry. The choir will be joined by superb professional orchestra Southern Sinfonia and renowned mezzo-soprano Sara Fulgoni.
